Met Cut to Black zet multi-instrumentalist Barry Adamson zijn muzikale zoektocht weer flink wat extra soulkracht bij. Het levert een even uitbundige als gloedvolle collectie songs op. Barry Adamson is een levende muzikale legende die al ruim 45 jaar alles uit zijn muzikale leven weet te halen. Gestart als bassist in het baanbrekende uit Manchester afkomstige Magazine (1978-1982) om vervolgens met Nick Cave’s eerste versie van The Bad Seeds zijn muzikale carrière glansrijk te vervolgen. Vanaf 1989 kreeg zijn solocarrière alle prioriteit na het onverwacht grote succes van zijn biografische eerste soloalbum Moss Side Story.
