Het Zweedse Ritual is een band die zich moeilijk in hokjes laat plaatsen. Folkrock is een etiket dat zeker van toepassing is en dat geldt ook voor progrock, maar door het uitgebreide instrumentarium met onder meer bouzouki, mandola en een sleutelharp plus de oosterse invloeden zou ook wereldmuziek zomaar van toepassing kunnen zijn. Kortom, muziek van een veelzijdig gezelschap waarvan de muziek zich lastig in woorden laat vangen. Het album The Story of Mr. Bogd – Part 1 is het eerste album sinds The Hemulic Voluntary Band uit 2007 en het vijfde sinds de oprichting. Het gat van maar liefst 17 jaar tussen albums is dus van Tool-achtige proporties en...
